Isola Bella Spire

I shot this from the front of a gondola in Venice, Italy. I like the shot as much for the colors as the way the gondolas look.

Gondola Curves

A shot from an Isola Bella in Lake Maggiore. The tour group I was with went to this island to tour the palace and terraced gardens built by Count Vitaliano Borromeo beginning in the 17th century. According to the local guide who took us around, it was built not in honor of his wife, but his mother.

Gondolier on Cell

Walking around Piazza San Marco, I came across a couple of artists working on paintings. This gentleman is working on St. Mark’s Basilica.

Artist at Work

I took this photo in Rome while standing inside the Pantheon looking at the dome. It was one of the few times over the course of my vacation that I wished I had a wider lens. According to our tour guide, that dome (nearly 200 feet in the air) was cast as a single piece. Overall, a great-looking building, considering that it’s about 2000 years old.
